TRAVEL TIPS
The only airline that offers regular flights to the island is LATAM. Peak season extends from December to March, with February being the month with the highest demand, since the annual festival “Tapati Rapa Nui” or “Rapa Nui Week”, develops during the first fortnight.
If you want to know the most emblematic and traditional places of Rapa Nui, consider a stay between 3 and 5 nights. This way you can discover its main archaeological and cultural attractions, share with its people and perform outdoor activities.
The Rapa Nui National Park occupies more than 40% of the territory, and includes tourist and archaeological sites such as:
ORONGO
It is a ceremonial citadel with ancestral constructions and petroglyphs, built at the top of the Rano Kau volcano.
ANA KAI TANGATA
Roughly translated into English as “cave that eats men,” recollects the cannibalism lived at some point in Rapa Nui history. In this place you can see spectacular rock paintings.
AHU AKIVI
An imposing altar with seven Moais, located at the center of the island.
To access Rapa Nui Park, you must buy a pass that extends for 10 days, for both national and foreign tourists, which you can buy directly on your arrival at the MataVeri airport or at the Mau Henua offices, who manage the place.
